Dr. Bill Rafnote
Dr. Bill Rafnote received his BS in Nursing from Northern Illinois University. After graduating, he worked in NICU's and an Adult ICU. Once Bill started working on his Master's in Nursing, he discovered the wonders and gifts from working with children who have cancer. He focused on child development and the impact of a life threatening illness on a child's development and the affect on their families. While earning his Doctorate in Nursing, he worked on the Hematology, Oncology, and Transplant Unit at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin (CHW). Bill’s area of study in Graduate School continued to focus on the long term psychological effects of cancer on children and families which led to his interest in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). During this time, he went back to school to complete his PNP. This lead to a job in the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Clinic at CHW.
