Dr. Keith Hendrix
The founder of The Society for the Discussion of Medical Ethics (SDME) is Dr. Keith Hendrix. After serving as a Clinical Coordinator of Global Product Safety and Global Regulatory Affairs for Eli Lilly Company based in Indianapolis Dr. Hendrix recognized the need for a community of medical professionals to discuss the impact of ethical decisions on the person, the family and the community. With over 20 years of hands-on research in the fields of molecular biology and clinical psychiatry, Dr. Hendrix has a well-rounded view of the issues from microscope to stethoscope. After achieving an A.B. from Brown University and an M.D. from Stanford University he completed a psychiatric residency at McMaster University in Ontario. He also held an internship at Tufts New England Medical Center in Out-Patient Adult Psychiatry. Aside from his current role on the Board of Directors for George Washington University Medical Center, he is the head organizing for SDME’s annual symposiums.
