Dr. Eugene Rubin
Dr. Eugene Rubin is a professor and Vice Chairman for Education in the Department of Psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis’ School of Medicine. He received a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Rochester (New York) in 1971, a Ph.D from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1977, and an M.D. from that same institution in 1978.
He has won numerous awards from across the United States in the areas of education, writing, and medicine. He specializes in depression, dementia, and chronic illness, and his work on dementia has been a great help to SDME’s writers in creating a history of antidepressants.
He has authored approximately 125 publications, which range from articles for Psychology Today, to scholarly articles, and to a full-length book, Demystifying Psychiatry: A Resource for Patients and Families, which he co-authored with Dr. Charles Zorumski. His years of experience make him an excellent candidate for being a keynote speaker one of SDME’s annual conferences.
