Dr. Peter D. Kramer
Dr. Peter D. Kramer is one of America’s foremost critics in the area of psychiatry, focussing on depression. He has penned six books since 1989, and his 1993 work, Listening to Prozac, is regarded as being one of the most important works of the latter half of the twentieth century on depression and antidepressants.
A former recipient of the Marshall Scholarship, a classical scholarship awarded to approximately four percent of university students in the United Kingdom with a GPA of 3.7 or higher, he graduated from Harvard University School of Medicine in 1970, did post-graduate studies at University College in London, and is now a faculty member at Brown University Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island. From 2005 to 2006, he hosted the radio program The Infinite Mind, a show that focussed on discussions about neuroscience, mental health, and the mind.
He offers his insight as a public speaker internationally; however, he is unable to attend SDME’s 25th Annual Spring Summit this coming spring, due to prior engagements. SDME is very supportive of Dr. Kramer’s work, and Dr. Kramer has expressed his interest in being a keynote speaker at one of our future conferences.
