Dr. James Anderson
Dr. James Anderson is world-renowned cosmetic surgeon and author, based in Los Angeles. For over thirty years, Dr. Anderson has been a stalwart in the industry, and his work as an author is considered some of the most well-read on the topic of cosmetic surgery.
Growing up in Sausalito, California, Dr. Anderson is an alumnus of the University of California’s medicine program and graduated in 1977. He has been a member of SDME for five years and is very enthusiastic to open up this year’s summit. He will be speaking about cosmetic surgery and sex reassignment operations

Dr. Erwin Hess
Dr. Erwin Hess is the chairman of Heidelberg University’s psychiatry program. He has acted as a professor and psychiatry critic for the past forty-eight years and is one of SDME’s most senior members.
Dr. Hess grew up in Rastatt, Germany and studied medicine at the University of Zürich, graduating in 1963. This is Dr. Hess’ third time speaking at one of our summits, and he is pleased to have been invited back again this year. He will be speaking about the increased use of antidepressants and their common and uncommon effects on users.

Dr. Melanie Leblanc
Dr. Melanie Leblanc grew up in Montréal, Québec and studied medicine at Laval University, graduating in 1994. She has been a member of SDME for ten years, and this is her first time being asked to be a keynote speaker of any kind.
She is known throughout Canada as a champion for women’s rights and as a pediatrician by her clients at a private practice in Beaumont, Alberta. We wish her well and know that she will be a great contributor to this year’s summit. She will be speaking about assisted suicide, euthanasia, and “right to die” ethics
